Senior Media and Communications Manager
Isaac Masilo Mangena is the Senior Media and Communications Manager. Before joining Oxfam South Africa, Isaac was the Head of Communications at the South African Human Rights Commission, a government Chapter 9 institution, where he also served as the Spokesperson and Advisor for the institution and its seven Commissioners since 2012.
He is a career journalist, having spent much of the past ten years of his life in different newsrooms both local and international. Before joining the SA Human Rights Commission, Isaac worked for eNews Channel Africa (eNCA) in various roles from producing, editing to being part of the team heading the channel’s continental expansion as Continental Operations Manager for eNCA; he has a huge network of journalists and media experts from across the continent.
He has a BA Degree in Psychology from the University of the North (now University of Limpopo), and has completed a Development Communications (Honours-Equivalent) with University of the Witwatersrand, as well as a short-Certificate course in Journalism, Communications and Media Management with Rhodes University.
Isaac is a news addict, an activists who believes in Africa first, and her potential.
